Crucial has announced two new solid state drives: the Crucial MX200, for those looking for high performance and premium features, and the Crucial BX100, for users looking for a more affordable option though it still has an emphasis on mainstream performance needs.
Crucial MX200 SSD
The Crucial MX200 SSD is quoted to deliver sequential reads and write up to 555MB/s and 500MB/s respectively as well as random reads and writes up to 100k and 87k IOPS on all file types. Additionally, it is built with an endurance rating up to 320 TBW for the 1TB model, delivering up to five times more endurance than a typical client SSD. The new line will be available in 2.5 inch, mSATA, M.2 160mm, and M.2 180mm form factors.
The Crucial MX200 is also the only consumer drive on the market that features Dynamic Write Acceleration, which is a new and unique technology that enables faster saves and file transfers. The MX200 also offers other key features, including:
- AES 256-bit encryption to protect data at the highest possible level
- Exclusive Data Defense to guard against corrupt files

- Power Loss Protection to preserve user data if power is lost
Each Crucial MX200 SSD includes Acronis True Image HD data migration software, which moves all files, operating systems, settings, and programs from an existing hard drive to a newly installed SSD. This disk-imaging technology powered by Acronis’ AnyData Engine allows users to quickly, easily, and accurately install their new SSD as their system drive.
