First up is Data Dynamics’ Unified Unstructured Data Management Platform. The company states that this new platform will provide organizations a single path for unstructured storage and data governance leaders with both metadata and file content analytics. This means that companies will have insight into that data that can result in cost savings and help with other challenges such as data risk classification and remediation options. Data Dynamics is further expanding on this platform with the latest release of StorageX and the introduction of Insight AnalytiX 1.1.
StorageX is Data Dynamics intelligence-based storage management solution. A couple years ago the company introduced metadata analytics into the solution. They saw a change in how data was being stored to a benefit for the companies. Version 8.2 brings even more changes including:
- File to Object Transform and Sync enables clients to move existing files data to any S3 compliant target platform. This capability allows companies to leverage the cloud for disaster recovery and data protection
- Archive Restoration allows storage administrators to permission self-service recovery using existing RBACs
- MD5 validation provides an industry standard validation on data moved using StorageX for compliance and regulatory requirements
- Duplicate File Report provides customers insights to inefficient Tier 1 storage use and identifies files appropriate for remediation
Noting the importance of analytics, the company also introduced Insight AnalytiX 1.1. This new analytic solution focus on three aspects: file data discovery, file content analytics, and templated file data workflows. AnalytiX gives users the ability to discover, analyze, and manage providing Personal Identifiable Information that helps on risk mitigation as well as helping compliance with thing such as GDPR. The two main capabilities of AnalytiX 1.1 are:
- Privacy Risk Analysis: analyze the file content of your unstructured data for key Personal Identifiable Information (PII)
- Privacy Risk Classification: Classify key file data with industry standard compliance and governance templates such as HIPPA, GDPR, CCPA, etc.
Availability
StorageX 8.2 is generally available in June 2020. Insight AnalytiX demonstration and POCs are also available in June 2020.
