At the Dell Solutions Summit in Brussels, Dell has announced the latest version of their desktop virtualization appliance, Wyse WSM 7. Wyse WSM enables almost any Windows application to run on a cloud client endpoint and a physical or virtual desktop. WSM offers high performance, easy maintenance (giving IT resources the option of reusing existing PCs, deploying Wyse cloud clients, or using a hybrid approach), and lower costs and increase security (WSM-provisioned desktops consume less power and none of or applications are stored locally making them easy to replace).

Earlier this year Dell announced several virtualization solutions. Dell is committed to maintaining their end-to-end approach to desktop virtualization with new updates to their Wyse WSM appliance.
New features with Wyse WSM 7 include:
- Application layering – administrators can separately provision individual applications or groups of applications by policy or department to any physical or virtual desktop, increasing control while decreasing management headaches.
- Client caching – reduces server storage and network bandwidth requirements, enhancing performance of virtual desktops and applications delivered over WSM.
