Dell has announced an update to their EqualLogic storage arrays, which adds support for copper and optical 10 GbE networking and increased storage capacity. The new EqualLogic PS6110 and PS4110 iSCSI arrays can be configured with 10GbE SFP+ or the less expensive 10GBASE-T RJ45 copper interface cards. Both systems are dual-controller, but the PS6110 offers higher capacity points and more processing power.

The PS6110 comes in six configurations with support ranging from high capacity 7,200 RPM SAS hard drives to speedy enterprise-grade SSDs. The PS6110 Series can handle up to 72TB in a single array and 1.2 petabytes in a single group.
The PS4110 is an entry level solution that provides most of the benefits of the PS6610, just on a smaller scale. The arrays support up to 36TB in a single array and 72 terabytes in a single group and can use 2.5" and 3.5" SAS hard drives.
Pricing and Availability
Both the EqualLogic PS6110 and PS4110 are available now with prices starting at $39,000 and $18,700 respectively.
