Update 8/8/22 – Dell Precision 5470 Review Posted
Dell Precision 5470
The most notable announcement from Dell is their new Precision 5470–the world’s smallest, thinnest and most powerful 14” mobile workstation the company has released to date, indicating that it is capable of delivering performance previously only offered in larger workstations. This certainly gives it an edge over other competitive 14” form factor systems.
Starting at just 3.26lbs, the Precision 5470 is dubbed by Dell as the world’s first laptop based on the 12th-gen Intel Core H-series processor that is both verified to meet the Intel Evo platform requirements and is based on the Intel vPro platform. It will be available in models with up to 64GB of DDR5 memory, up to 4TB of storage, and up to NVIDIA RTX A1000 graphics.
Dell has also improved the Precision 5470’s cooling system, which was key in attaining its performance capabilities. This new thermal management system fits nicely inside the compact system without having to sacrifice memory or vital ports like Thunderbolt. Dell has also outfitted the workstation with “Dual Opposite Outlet fan” technology, which will help the 5470 to cool at high speeds during complex workflows. It also features a “bonded- hinge architecture” to improve the efficiency of exhausting hot air.
The Precision 5470 is built around an immersive edge-to-edge 14” Infinity Edge display so you can see your ideas more clearly in a compact footprint for highly mobile creators, engineers, and specialty professionals. The display comes with TUV-certified ComfortView Plus, a hardware-based low blue light filter that doesn’t consume resources or affect the true color in which your ideas deserve to be seen.
