Today Diablo Technologies announced that its Memory Channel Storage (MCS) would be integrated into the latest edition of Lenovo’s X6 Server. The MCS architecture that will be used in the Lenovo X6 servers is the eXFlash, not to be confused with the UltraDIMM that has been at the center of litigation between Diablo and Netlist. Lenovo’s X6 servers systems can support up to 32 400GB eXFlash DIMMs per system for a total capacity of 12.8TB.
Lenovo’s new X6 servers systems portfolio include two rackmount servers the x3850, a four-socket system, and the x3950, an eight-socket system. Lenovo also has a series of blade servers named the Flex System that includes x280, x480, and the x880. According to Diablo, these severs combined with eXFlash will deliver industry leading performance and value. The two technologies will seamlessly integrate to accelerate a wide range of workloads such as database, analytics, and virtualization.
