Dot Hill Systems has announced the launch of its new Ultra56 AssuredSAN Hybrid Storage Array. The new hybrid array is based on an ultra-density chassis supporting both NEBS level 3 carrier and MIL-STD government requirements. The Ultra56 AssuredSAN hybrid storage array is ideal for telecommunications carriers, service providers, and tactically deployed government installations that have needs for both large capacity storage and the reliability and data services Dot Hill controllers offer.

Like the 2.5″ ultra-dense Ultra48 platform, the Ultra56 AssuredSAN hybrid storage array is available with RealStor 2.0 application workload-aware intelligence software, which maximizes performance while simplifying management of hybrid storage arrays. The Ultra56 includes the same dual active, redundant 4004 controllers as the other Dot Hill storage arrays have. The Ultra56 is well suited for environments requiring extreme reliability and density as well as applications ranging from big data, cloud, high performance computing to wireless and cellular infrastructure. The Ultra56 has two front facing drawers for easy access to the drives.

Features include:

  • Up to 1.34PB of raw capacity (with the inclusion of expansion enclosures)
  • Up to 6400MB/s of sustained read performance
  • Up to 5300MB/s of large block writes
  • UP to 100,000 IOPS of small block random reads
  • Supports any combination of SSDs and HDDs
  • All devices are hot-swappable (drives, fans, power supplies)
  • 37 month “bumper-to-bumper” warranty
