Each of the new DSI solutions uses FalconStor as the VTL appliance engine.
These latest DSI solutions are priced to make virtual tape available at close to the price point of a physical tape solution while offering features like data-at-rest-encryption for PCI DSS requirements, the flexibility to expand storage capacity, and enhanced reporting and searching functionality.
Enterprise data centers frequently manage heterogeneous storage environments with hundreds of servers running a variety of operating systems and applications. The DSI300 family reduces the burden placed on backup and recovery operations and reducing time it takes to access data.
Additional DSI VTL Solutions
DSI also offers host-based software for mainframe tape management and library management across the enterprise. DSI virtual tape library solutions can be integrated with Formula Consultants Inc’s STAR-1100 tape management, FCI’s STAR Library Manager, and B&L Associates MCP software. The DSI9000 line supports both high-availability pairs with failover capability and single appliance deployments.
