Eaton’s 9PX boasts 28 percent more power than traditional UPSs and is specifically designed for the protection of medium-to-high-density IT equipment in computer rooms as well as small data centers in industrial, manufacturing, medical and telecommunications applications. Additionally, the 9PX is tailored to main distribution frame (MDF) and intermediate distribution frame (IDF) applications equipped with high density network switches with its a wide variety of available configurations that are designed to maximize availability and optimize flexibility.
The 9PX has a graphical LCD interface with the ability to tilt 45 degrees for optimal viewing. In addition, it can rotate to match rack and tower installations, allowing IT and data center managers to view detailed information and to customize all UPS settings at the push of a button. With this display and its seamless integration with Eaton’s power management software, users have detailed insight into UPS power usage and efficiency, which enables superior management of electrical consumption and energy footprint.
All 9PX UPSs ships with a network card and Eaton’s Intelligent Power Software Suite, a pairing of power management and protection software. With this software, users can monitor and manage their entire power system from a single dashboard, or directly from major virtualization platforms, including VMware vCenter Server, Citrix XenServer, Microsoft SCVMM, Red Hat and other Xen open source platforms.
The integrated software solution enables the automatic, transparent live migration of virtual machines. This allows critical workloads to remain up and running in the event of extended downtime as well as bolster business continuity by moving critical applications to available servers within an organization, or to a co-located facility or public cloud.
Eaton’s ABM technology optimizes battery recharge time by eliminating overcharging and by continuously monitoring battery condition, which can extend battery service life by 50 percent. Its two-year warranty covers all Eaton 9PX UPS units including batteries.
