Fusion-io has announced that Japanese social gaming company Drecom is using Fusion ioMemory to power its MySQL database environment. After determining that traditional SSD solutions did not meet its performance and reliability requirements, Drecom turned to Fusion-io technology to alleviate the problem.
Drecom which is based in Japan, produces popular social gaming applications focused on communications and mobile content, in addition to web services. To meet increasing storage demands for its rapidly growing user base and frequent additions of new content, Drecom’s architecture team needed a scalable, flexible system. It was determined that SSDs did not meet their write performance and reliability standards, so they decided to incorporate the Fusion-io ioDrive into its servers.
After Drecom completed the integration of Fusion’s ioDrive, results boasted a significant improvement in MySQL database transactional performance and its server sprawl was cut in half. As a result, this lead to reductions in operating expenses allowing its engineering staff to focus on improving other parts of the system and customers’ user experience.
Fusion-io’s technology was also recently integrated with Webair FusionCloud and with InFrame Designs Appliances earlier this year.
