Google is hopeful they’ll be able to release it sometime in the first half of 2021. With a target date that vague, I’d be surprised if it didn’t slip until the second half of next year, at least.

Both companies are planning to release Cisco SD-WAN Cloud Hub with Google Cloud sometime in the first half of next year. That leaves a lot of time for plans to change. That said, here’s what we know about the currently planned features.
In theory, Cisco SD-WAN Cloud Hub with Google Cloud will allow network policies, such as segmentation and security settings, to follow network traffic across the boundary between the enterprise network and Google Cloud, for end-to-end control.
Google is aiming to provide automated application and path-aware routing through Cisco SD-WAN Cloud Hub with Google Cloud. The planned service will allow customers to publish all of their services in a single place with the ability to define the intent of how the network should treat those services in an automated fashion. When service availability settings are set in Google Cloud Service Directory, Cisco should apply appropriate SD-WAN policies to enable those settings. The reverse should also work. Cisco’s SD-WAN controller, vManage, monitors network performance, and service health metrics to intelligently direct user requests to the most optimal cloud service nodes.
Cisco is aiming to benefit from Google’s existing network infrastructure. Partly as a result of its wildly popular experiment with providing fiber network service and partly as a result of needing to support well-known applications like YouTube and Google Search, Google has a network of high-capacity fiber optic cables that spans the globe. Cisco SD-WAN customers will be able to transfer their data along this state-of-the-art network backbone.
Both companies expect the jointly developed feature to provide better security for their customers. Using Cisco Cloud Hub, policies can be extended into the cloud to authorize access to cloud applications based on user identity. With Cisco SD-WAN Cloud Hub, any device, including IoT devices, will be able to comply with enterprise policy across the network and app ecosystem.
