Today Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) announced that it was launching a series of new Hitachi Unified Compute Platform (UCP) solutions for SAP HANA environments. With these new and enhanced systems, customers will be able to run multiple applications on a single platform that could save on costs, data center footprint, and complexity.
The new UCPs from HDS run the gamut from the lower-cost UCP 1000 for SAP HANA, that is aimed at test and development as well as SME environments, to the UCP 6000 that is aimed for the largest and most demanding data centers. The UCP 6000 for SAP HANA Dynamic Tiering tiers active data in-memory and less frequently accessed data to more cost-effective storage in order to reduce overall data storage costs. The UCP 6000 for SAP HANA now has a new analytics capability that enables customers to gain insights from the data quicker through consolidation of data from multiple application sources.
Aside from announcing new products for SAP HANA, HDS, who is a SAP partner, also announced that its UCP 6000 system has been added to SAP Co-Innovation Lab to develop, test and demonstrate the reference architecture. Now the UCP 6000 system can be optimally configured and the reference architecture for running SAP HANA dynamic tiering can be determined to meet today’s needs while preparing for the future.
HDS will be showcasing its new solutions at SAPPHIRE NOW and ASUG Annual Conference being held May 17–19 in Orlando, Florida, in booth 119.
