Hitachi has announced their latest G-Technology external storage solution. The new G-RAID is highlighted by Thunderbolt connectivity and a pair of 7200 RPM Deskstar hard drives that can be configured in RAID0 for performance or RAID1 for data redundancy. The G-RAID is being launched at NAB, a perfect location given the demands of the professional A/V market for fast, local storage. Hitachi quotes sustained throughput of up to 280 MB/s when configured in RAID0 and will offer the drives in 4TB, 6TB and 8TB configurations. The unreleased G-Drive was also spotted, now featuring Thunderbolt as well.
