Data Protector 7 is designed to understand the context of unstructured, human information such as social media, video, images, audio and email, in order to identify and prioritize how such information is protected. Once data is indexed by Autonomy IDOL, the information can be accessed and applied to an array of cloud-based solutions that include archiving, eDiscovery, information governance, and revenue optimization.

Data Protector 7 Feature Overview

  • Meet legal discovery and compliance needs by utilizing governance tools including eDiscovery and legal hold to perform contextual search on backup data as well as to find and recover data by meaning.
  • Zero-downtime recovery through integrated support for leading enterprise applications as well as granular recovery of SharePoint, VMware, and Microsoft Exchange data.
  • Enterprise-wide information protection by integrating with HP StoreOnce B6200 to extend federated deduplication from data-center core to the edge.
  • Extend information protection to cloud-based storage with integrated access to the Autonomy private cloud, a 50-petabyte storage-as-a-service platform built on the HP Converged Cloud.

Availability

HP Data Protector 7 is available now from HP and its channel partners. Autonomy cloud backup is offered via a monthly subscription.
