HP has announced the latest additions to its Personal Systems portfolio, including the EliteBook 800 Series PCs, ZBook Firefly 14, and ZBook Firefly 15. These new releases are highlighted by new capabilities for business users, IT teams, and creators with a focus on productivity, peace of mind, and sustainably sourced materials.

These new releases are highlighted by new capabilities for business users, IT teams, and creators with a focus on productivity, peace of mind, and sustainably sourced materials.
Productivity-wise, the new HP Elite PCs and HP workstations feature a range of useful updates. This includes outfitting the systems with the highest connection speeds possible with gigabit data rate Wi-Fi 6, 4G LTE2, or 5G. Moreover, the new AI-based noise reduction technology helps to suppress background noises and keyboard clicks during conference calls, while HP QuickDrop allows users to transfer photos, videos, and files quickly and securely between HP PCs and mobile devices.
Reliability, security, and peace of mind is also a huge part of these new releases. For example, they support Tile (technology that helps users find their belongings), allowing users to locate the systems either at the office/home or much further away. They also feature HP Tamper Lock, the company’s new intrusion detection technology that locks a PC (and notifies the user) if it has been physically opened or compromised. In addition, with HP Easy Clean, devices can be wiped down and disinfected using common household cleaning wipes, as this new feature disables the touchscreen, keyboard, and clickpad at the touch of a button (without having to power off the device). Lastly, the display’s HP Sure View Reflect features a copper reflective finish, which makes viewing impossible from the sides for a discrete working experience. 
The new releases also feature sustainably sourced materials, as they all use ocean-bound plastics in the speaker enclosure and 100% sustainably sourced packaging for the outer box.
The HP EliteBook 800 G8 Series PCs are powered by (up to) 11th Gen Intel Core processors, available in 13.3″, 14″, and 15.6″ models, and are designed as a durable laptop with long battery life. Featuring an NVIDIA GeForce MX450 discrete graphics, select configurations of the HP EliteBook 800 series have also been tested and verified to meet standards for the Intel Evo Platform to ensure high-responsiveness, fast charge, and instant wake.
The HP EliteBook x360 830 G8 features a 360-degree hinge and 13.3” diagonal touchscreen display for a flexible viewing experience. Moreover, it has an optional HP Rechargeable Active Pen G3 that features a proximity alert to notify users if they leave their pen behind.
The new HP ZBook Firefly G8 is available in both 14” and 15.6” display models and is designed to give mobile workers the power and performance they need to design in 2D and review in 3D. These machines weigh-in at just 2.98 pounds and thus dubbed the world’s lightest mobile workstation with a color-accurate display by HP.
HP indicates the following other features:
- Enjoy a true color digital canvas with a DreamColor19 display boasting a billion on-screen colors20 with world-class visual fidelity. Creators will have confidence in their colors as new PANTONE Validated displays meet Pantone’s color fidelity criteria in the simulation of the full range of real-world PANTONE Colors.
- Keep remote workers productive. Get improved performance with new NVIDIA T500 professional graphics, featuring 4 GB GDDR6 VRAM, and up to 3X graphics performance over the previous generation, and 2.6x better performance than the Dell Precision 355022 – pull up schematics or designs and get the job done from anywhere, even while multi-tasking with conferencing or web applications. Additionally, be more productive while using multiple applications like video conferencing, web browsing, and streaming.
- ZCentral Remote Boost brings users a revolutionary way to collaborate by taking advantage of remote access to even more powerful desktop workstations at the office. The real-time collaboration capability of this solution allows collaboration across teams and applications remotely with almost any device.
The ZBook Studio and Create G7 will also soon be available with Ubuntu 20.04 and data science tools, which will be preloaded on day one. As a result, data scientists will be able to start training models with their new system out-of-the-box, instead of having to research and find all the tools themselves. HP believes that this flexibility will allow data scientists to noticeably improve and accelerate their workflows.
Pricing and Availability
The HP EliteBook 800 G8 PC, HP EliteBook x360 830 G8 Series, HP ZBook Firefly 14 G8, HP ZBook Firefly 15 G8 are all expected to be available later in December with pricing to follow closer to their releases.
