HPE announced a unified experience providing one view of all services edge-to-cloud, the convergence with Aruba Central, and the addition of 12 new cloud services to the HPE GreenLake Edge-to-Cloud platform. The new cloud services include Network-as-a-Service, data services, HPC functions, and compute operations management. HPE GreenLake will also be available in the online marketplaces of several distributors.
The HPE GreenLake platform is a multi-cloud service supporting clouds that live on-premise, at the edge, in a colocation, and in public clouds. The unified operational experience provides a simplified view and access to all cloud services, spanning the entire HPE portfolio, with single sign-on access, security, compliance, elasticity, and data protection.
The new update includes Aruba Central, a cloud-native, AI-powered network management solution. With the update, more than 120,000 Aruba networking customers can use the HPE GreenLake platform to order services on-demand and manage their assets.
Data Services
Eight new services added to HPE GreenLake will simplify procuring and deploying NaaS, allowing customers to align network spend to usage needs. These new services are optimized for channel partners to operate in a resale or managed service provider model, including wired, wireless, and SD-Branch use cases. The new services were added to provide velocity and flexibility and accelerate time to revenue.
HPE GreenLake has included block storage and data protection in the current data services offerings. HPE GreenLake for Block Storage will deliver guaranteed 100 percent data availability on a cloud operational model. Businesses can transform faster and deliver self-service agility to critical enterprise applications. Self-service provisioning for business owners and database admins means new apps, services, and projects can be deployed more quickly, freeing IT resources to work on strategic initiatives.
Hybrid cloud gets backup as a service with enhanced HPE Backup and Recovery Service. With these new services, customer data is protected for Virtual Machines with on-premises recovery and a cost-effective approach for storing long-term backups in the public cloud. HPE Backup and Recovery Service is now available for Virtual Machines deployed on heterogeneous infrastructure. Additionally, HPE is advancing its ransomware recovery solutions by adding immutable data copies on-premises, AWS, and Microsoft Azure cloud with HPE Backup and Recovery Service and Zerto.
High-Performance Computing
HPE GreenLake for High-Performance Computing integrates GPU capabilities with HPE Apollo 6500 Gen10 to accelerate compute and advance data-intensive projects using NVIDIA A100, A40, and A30 Tensor Core GPUs in increments of 2-4-8 accelerators. NVIDIA NVLink is featured for a seamless, high-speed connection between GPUs to work together as a single robust accelerator.
HPE Slingshot, a high-performance Ethernet fabric designed for HPC and AI, delivering high-performance networking to address demands for higher speed and congestion control in larger data-intensive and AI workloads, is featured in the update.
Also included is HPE Parallel File System Storage delivering a scalable, high-performance storage solution providing greater throughput for broader HPC and AI demands.
Cloud-Native Management
HPE is making Compute Ops Management available for a 90-day free trial with purchase options set for June 2022. The service is a cloud-native management console to access, monitor, and manage servers. HPE GreenLake for Compute Ops Management automates compute lifecycle management instantly and securely across a customer’s compute environment.
HPE has expanded its partner ecosystem to deliver industry-leading solutions through the HPE GreenLake platform. HPE has included the availability of HPE GreenLake for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI, an optimized service providing customers more choice and flexibility for hybrid IT environments. The Azure Stack HCI is an integrated system, pre-built and configured for fast deployment, easy integration, and delivered as a pay-per-use service.
The new HPE GreenLake experience will be available in April 2022.
