HPE and NVIDIA collaborate to enhance AI data management with the HPE AI Data Platform, accelerating insights across hybrid cloud environments.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced significant enhancements to its enterprise data storage and management portfolio, including launching a new unified data layer to accelerate AI insights across multi-vendor, hybrid cloud environments. Through deeper collaboration with NVIDIA, HPE aims to simplify how organizations access, manage, and leverage structured and unstructured data, drastically reducing the time required to generate valuable insights from AI workloads.

HPE Data Platform AI

Fidelma Russo, executive vice president, Hybrid Cloud, and CTO at HPE, emphasized the necessity of shifting traditional data management practices toward a unified, intelligent model. Russo noted that by collaborating closely with NVIDIA, HPE empowers enterprises to scale their AI initiatives seamlessly, regardless of data location, giving customers a competitive advantage and accelerating their journey toward business value.

Justin Boitano, vice president of Enterprise Software at NVIDIA, added that the partnership between HPE and NVIDIA enables AI agents to connect seamlessly with business knowledge, powering the next generation of high-performance, intelligent data infrastructure. The combined solutions will support sophisticated AI reasoning and inference, driving actionable insights.

Transforming the AI Data Pipeline Through Unified Infrastructure

With the rapid rise of agentic and physical AI, enterprise data volumes and complexities are skyrocketing, often overwhelming traditional storage and data management frameworks. HPE and NVIDIA are addressing this challenge through the new NVIDIA AI Data Platform and a unified data layer that integrates seamlessly with HPE’s Private Cloud AI and storage solutions, streamlining the entire data pipeline for AI workloads.

The NVIDIA AI Data Platform is a customizable blueprint optimized for enterprise AI workloads. It integrates NVIDIA’s accelerated computing, advanced networking, and specialized AI software with HPE’s enterprise-grade storage infrastructure. The platform leverages NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, including NVIDIA AI-Q Blueprints, NVIDIA NIM microservices, and NVIDIA’s cutting-edge Llama Nemotron reasoning models, significantly speeding up complex AI reasoning workloads.

HPE Alletra Storage MP platforms will enhance integration with NVIDIA Networking to support these high-performance demands. Furthermore, HPE GreenLake for File Storage—validated as part of the NVIDIA-Certified Storage Program—is an ideal foundation for enterprise-scale AI factories, ensuring reliable, high-speed, and intelligent data infrastructure.

Unified Data Layer Accelerates Hybrid Cloud AI Adoption

HPE’s unified data layer combines the HPE Data Fabric software with the latest enhancements to HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000 and Apache Iceberg integration, delivering a seamless data experience from edge to cloud. As the backbone of the HPE Private Cloud AI data lakehouse, HPE Data Fabric simplifies management and governance of structured, unstructured, and streaming data, providing consistently optimized, high-quality AI-ready datasets to accelerate business insights.

HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000

The HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000 introduces automated inline metadata tagging, automatically enriching stored object data with intelligence upon ingestion. This simplifies downstream AI data ingestion and accelerates AI workload performance. Additionally, HPE’s ongoing collaboration with NVIDIA aims to enhance the X10000’s performance through optimized remote direct memory access (RDMA) transfers directly between GPU memory, system memory, and storage arrays.

Expanded Block Storage, Enhanced Ransomware Protection, and Hybrid Cloud Simplification

HPE has also expanded the capabilities of its Alletra Storage MP B10000 platform to simplify diverse workloads through unified file access, hybrid cloud integration with Microsoft Azure, and built-in ransomware detection and protection.

The B10000 is the industry’s first disaggregated scale-out storage solution supporting unified file and block protocols on a single operating system and storage architecture. This unified approach significantly reduces operational complexity and costs by streamlining storage management across hybrid environments.

Further streamlining hybrid cloud deployments, HPE Alletra Block Storage for Azure offers a software-defined storage experience with Microsoft Azure integration. It provides comprehensive, AI-driven operations and simplified workload placement across hybrid clouds. Its automated AIOps capabilities enable autonomous storage management and significantly reduce administrative overhead.

HPE has introduced advanced, multi-layer ransomware detection and mitigation capabilities natively within the B10000 for data protection. Combined with Zerto’s recovery technology, the solution ensures resilient, secure data protection across storage arrays, applications, and cloud environments.

Availability

  • HPE Data Fabric with HPE Private Cloud AI and Alletra Storage MP X10000 integration is expected to be available in Summer 2025.
  • Enhanced Alletra Storage MP B10000 and X10000 will be orderable beginning May 2025.

These enhancements firmly position HPE and NVIDIA as industry leaders in intelligent data management and AI-driven infrastructure. They provide enterprises with a competitive advantage by unlocking quicker, more actionable insights from their data.
