X5000 Storage is a highly available clustered file storage platform designed in collaboration with Microsoft to integrate the X5000 hardware platform with Microsoft’s SMB ecology so that IT staff are able to leverage existing Microsoft skills and management interfaces.

X5000 Storage is a highly available clustered file storage platform designed in collaboration with Microsoft to integrate the X5000 hardware platform with Microsoft’s SMB ecology so that IT staff are able to leverage existing Microsoft skills and management interfaces.
Capable of supporting more than 10,000 end users on a single base system, X5000 Storage is part of HP’s Converged Infrastructure and Converged Storage platforms, and provides a two-node, active-active design for continuous data access in the event of hardware failures. According to HP benchmarks, the X5000 reduces power consumption by 58 percent, cooling requirements by 63 percent, and physical footprint by 50 percent compared to a two-node server deployment with dedicated disk shelves.
The X5000 Storage family features BranchCache to reduce network utilization between the head office and branch offices, improving user experience by caching frequently accessed content locally. X5000’s File Classification Infrastructure (FCI) allows administrators to manage sensitive data and flag old information for archive. HP X5000 Storage integrates with Windows IT infrastructure services including Active Directory and Microsoft System Center, and allows Microsoft-certified antivirus and backup software to run directly on HP X5000 blades.
The X5000 portfolio now supports SFF as well as 3TB large form factor (LFF) SAS drives, which enables SMBs to expand capacity without increasing data-center footprint. In addition, HP X5000 Storage provides built-in single-instance storage (SIS) deduplication, compression and file-classification features, enabling customers to recover up to 40 percent of existing disk space.

HP X5000 Storage is available worldwide, with a U.S. list price starting at $30,229, including active-active clustered controllers, all software features, and 10GbE connectivity.
