At CiscoLive in Melbourne, Cisco and IBM announced new solutions for their joint converged infrastructure, VersaStack. The new solutions incorporated in will extend hybrid cloud capabilities. These newly incorporated solutions will also take advantage of the latest software defined storage technologies to address cloud-scale applications.
VersaStack is a Hybrid cloud solution designed to help companies reduce complexity and accelerate application delivery through automation. VersaStack is a combination of Cisco Unified Computing System integrated infrastructure (such a Cisco UCS servers and Cisco Nexus switches) and IBM software-defined storage. The latest additions to VersaStack portfolio now include Hybrid Cloud Ready Infrastructure with VersaStack, Infrastructure Automation to accelerate the delivery of IT applications, Object Storage Support through IBM’s Cloud Object Storage on Cisco’s UCS S3260, and Spectrum Software Defined Storage with VersaStack and Cisco UCS.
