Infinidat introduced two upgrades that significantly enhance its all-flash capabilities and storage capacity for enterprise-level storage needs. Infinidat unveiled SSA Express Software for its InfiniBox platform, which seamlessly integrates a high-speed, all-flash engine directly into the hybrid array, effectively eliminating the necessity for organizations to procure a separate, isolated flash array to meet the demands of smaller applications and workloads requiring top-notch performance with minimal latency.
Eric Herzog, Chief Marketing Officer at Infinidat, expressed his enthusiasm for SSA Express Software, stating, “SSA Express Software reimagines the InfiniBox hybrid platform, ensuring that critical applications and workloads have rapid, low-latency response rates through direct access to the flash layer, while, simultaneously, reducing costs and simplifying storage management.”
One of the key advantages of this innovative SSA Express Software is that it empowers enterprise clients to consolidate a larger number of workloads into the flash layer of the InfiniBox hybrid than ever before. This enhancement allows enterprises to optimize the application workload alignment within Infinidat’s distinctive software-defined storage architecture.
New InfiniBox Model Doubles Capacity
In addition to the software upgrade, Infinidat has amplified its InfiniBox SSA II solution by introducing a new model that doubles its capacity. This latest model provides an impressive 6.635PB of effective capacity in a single 42u rack, doubling the all-flash array’s usable capacity.
Furthermore, Infinidat now offers a scale-up architecture for the InfiniBox SSA II with 60 percent, 80 percent, and 100 percent populated models. This flexibility enables businesses to tailor their storage infrastructure expansion according to their specific needs and budget constraints, thereby reducing the entry price point while maintaining top-notch performance.
These two enhancements not only bring remarkable technological advancements but also contribute to sustainability efforts. By doubling the SSA II’s capacity without increasing power consumption, Infinidat supports greener data centers, reducing energy and cooling requirements. The reduction in power consumption per effective PB aligns with sustainability goals, providing a more favorable return on investment.
