Infortrend has announced the addition of new high-density storage solutions in its EonStor DS family. These new solutions aid customers meet extreme capacity requirements with 48 drive bays in a 4U form factor, in addition to offering outstanding cost efficiency. The new systems are equipped with hybrid Fibre Channel (FC)/iSCSI host connectivity for cost-effective remote replication or consolidated SAN tiering.
Infortrend has announced the addition of new high-density storage solutions in its EonStor DS family. These new solutions aid customers meet extreme capacity requirements with 48 drive bays in a 4U form factor, in addition to offering outstanding cost efficiency. The new systems are equipped with hybrid Fibre Channel (FC)/iSCSI host connectivity for cost-effective remote replication or consolidated SAN tiering.
The high-density EonStor DS solutions offer extreme capacities, which are ideal for applications such as High Performance Computing (HPC) and data archiving. These high-density solutions are easy to maintain and feature three separate drawers accommodating 16 disk drives each and simplified system cabling. If a user’s requirement exceeds the capacity offered by a single 48-bay system, it can be flexibly expanded with expansion enclosures to upwards of 240 drive bays. Additionally, the high density of the solutions decreases the amount of required floor space and lowers power consumption.
Combined with hybrid FC/iSCSI connectivity, the high-density solutions allow users to deploy mission-critical applications on FC SAN while configuring cost-effective remote replication via iSCSI-based data transmission over Ethernet. In addition, the hybrid connectivity can be used to support consolidated SAN tiering; a single solution can meet service level requirements of tier 1 applications on FC SAN and tier 2 applications on IP SAN.
Advanced data services help enable users to get the most out of their solution. Standard available snapshot and volume copy/mirror, in addition to remote replication, help users effectively protect their data and implement comprehensive disaster recovery plans. Thin provisioning optimizes storage resource utilization by enabling dynamic capacity provisioning.
The new EonStor DS high-density solutions include the following:
- EonStor DS S48F-R2842: Dual-redundant controllers, eight 8Gb/s FC ports + four 1GbE iSCSI ports, 4U form factor, 48 drive bays, standard available snapshot and volume copy/mirror, remote replication, thin provisioning.
- EonStor DS S48F-G2842: Single controller, four 8Gb/s FC ports + two 1GbE iSCSI ports, 4U form factor, 48 drive bays, standard available snapshot and volume copy/mirror, remote replication, thin provisioning.
