Intel’s SSD roadmap through Q1 of 2011 has been leaked and it includes everything Intel SSD fans have been hoping for, and more. The X25-M G3 is confirmed through this document to come in 160GB, 300GB and 600GB capacities, with their new 25nm MLC NAND flash due out Q4 this year. The rest of the line is getting a refresh too, and a new small form factor SSD debuts.
Intel’s SSD roadmap through Q1 of 2011 has been leaked and it includes everything Intel SSD fans have been hoping for, and more. The X25-M G3 is confirmed through this document to come in 160GB, 300GB and 600GB capacities, with their new 25nm MLC NAND flash due out Q4 this year. The rest of the line is getting a refresh too, and a new small form factor SSD debuts.
While the X25-M G3 is the headliner, there are plenty of other updates as well. We can expect a new small form factor mSATA SSD near the turn of the year in 40GB and 80GB capacities (34nm MLC).
The Intel X25M-V boot drive is going to get a makeover too, with 25nm NAND in 40GB and 80GB capacities. The 80GB is scheduled to hit first in Q4 of this year with the 40GB in the following quarter.
Not to be left out of the party, Intel’s also revitalizing their extreme line, the X25-E. The X25-E gets updated with enterprise-grade 25nm MLC NAND and will come in capacities of 100GB, 200GB and 400GB. All three are due out in Q1 2011.
While these roadmaps are always subject to change, it does give us significant insight as to what Intel is planning for their SSD line, regardless of dates that will inevitably shift.
