The StorCenter ix 12-300r is clearly full of EMC pedigree, while being offered at an Iomega price. For a starting price of $5,000, businesses get access to 4TB of storage (expandable to 24TB) available in several flavors of RAID configurations. They also include EMC technologies like LifeLine software, the operating environment and suite of software tools to manage the device.
Other highlights include Ethernet network port bonding (4 Gigabit ports), Virtual LAN (VLAN) capability, Windows DFS (Distributed File System) support, WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning), Panasonic video surveillance camera compatibility, Device-to-Device Replication (D2D), iSCSI support, remote access, Time Machine support and Bluetooth support.
Availability
The first units will be available exclusively from CDW starting in mid-May for a list of $4,999 for the 4TB model. Other channels will have the storage system starting in June.
