Iomega has announced the worldwide availability of the latest line of products in their network storage solutions: the new Iomega StorCenter px2-300d Network Storage, a high performance, Intel Atom powered double-drive desktop network storage device with up to 6TB of storage, and the new Iomega StorCenter ix4-300d Network Storage, which is Iomega’s next-gen StorCenter ix Series of versatile and easy-to-use four-drive desktop network storage appliances.
Iomega has announced the worldwide availability of the latest line of products in their network storage solutions: the new Iomega StorCenter px2-300d Network Storage, a high performance, Intel Atom powered double-drive desktop network storage device with up to 6TB of storage, and the new Iomega StorCenter ix4-300d Network Storage, which is Iomega’s next-gen StorCenter ix Series of versatile and easy-to-use four-drive desktop network storage appliances.
The Iomega’s new StorCenter px2-300d and StorCenter ix4-300d are designed for advanced users in all types of environments; from small offices to distributed enterprises. Both new products use EMC’s latest LifeLine release (version 3.4) operating system for cross-platform file-sharing with seamless integration of security and convenience features such as RAID data protection, hot-swappable hard drives (though, only with the px2-300d), virtualized environment support, multiple cloud options for offsite data storage, antivirus protection (also only available on the px2-300d), Active Directory integration, advanced media sharing features and much more.
In addition to setups already populated with 1TB, 2TB and 3TB enterprise grade 7200 rpm hard drives for the px2-300d, and 1TB, 2TB and 3TB SATA II drives for the ix4-300d, both also offer diskless options giving users the ability to use their own HDDs. Iomega is will be releasing 4TB drives for future models in both lines.

The StorCenter px2-300d and ix4-300d can help protect businesses with the integrated SecureMind Surveillance Manager video management software. This systems gives multi-channel live monitoring, video recording, and fast video playback with multiple IP cameras. Additionally , the archiving and retention capabilities of Iomega’s new network storage products can be useful for capturing and storing surveillance video with its built-in storage capacity. One camera license is included free of charge.
The StorCenter px2-300d is also the only network storage product in its class that supports the McAfee VirusScan Enterprise product. McAfee Virus Scan enterprise includes built-in, real-time on-access and automatic antivirus scanning and cleaning using the McAfee scanning engine. A subscription to a full implementation of McAfee VirusScan enterprise is included with the purchase of the StorCenter px2-300d at no extra charge.
Pricing and Availability
The new Iomega StorCenter px2-300d Network Storage is currently shipping worldwide with the following prices: the diskless model at $499.99, the 2TB model at $699.99, the 4TB model at $999.99, and the 6TB model at $1,199.99. The Iomega StorCenter ix4-300d Network Storage is also currently available worldwide; its diskless model is priced at $599.99. The following capacity models of the new StorCenter ix4-300d will be available shortly: the 4TB version will be priced at $749.99, the 8TB version will be $949.99, and the 12TB version will be $1,299.99.
