Kangaru Solutions announced today that its Kangaru Defender Elite series of encrypted flash drives are safe from security flaws recently exposed in other encrypted flash drives. While some drives from other manufacturers authenticate users when they type their password in correctly, the authentication software can be hacked to always provide access to secure areas of the drive, as if a correct password had been entered.

Kangaru’s Defender Elite series flash drives use hardware authentication and safe from this security flaw. The Defender Elite series drives use 256-bit AES hardware encryption and on-chip password matching. They can also be managed remotely using Kangaru’s Remote Management Console software.
