Kingston is announcing the KC300 SSD, the newest addition to its SSDNow family designed for client users in the enterprise, enthusiasts and mobile users who require maximum performance and energy efficiency. The KC300 replaces the Kingston V+200 and KC100 SSDs that we have reviewed. It also provides advanced power management via an LSI SandForce SF-2281 controller and features enterprise-grade SMART attributes which enable administrators to monitor drive wear and how much life the SSD still has left as well as write amplification and total bytes written. In addition, to extend the KC300’s life, Kingston has implemented Data Integrity Protection featuring DuraWrite technology which decreases the quantity of writes. Further, RAISE trims down the number of uncorrectable errors in the drive beyond the ECC rate.
