Kingston has announced its new Wi-Drive portable storage solution for Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The Wi-Drive is pocket-sized and uses flash memory to deliver 16GB and 32GB capacities.
Kingston’s Wi-Drive allows users to access more data and share files with other Apple device owners over a wireless connection. The W-Drive acts essentially like a wireless file server (802.11g/n), with a configurable access point name and security settings. The drive also connects to PCs via USB. Apple devices require the free Wi-Drive app from the Apple App Store.
Other highlights include a rechargeable battery that gets up to four hours of continuous use, one year warranty and support for most major audio, video, image and document file formats.
Pricing and Availability
The Kingston Wi-Drive will be available at the end of June 2011; the 16GB version (WID/16GZ) is MSRP $129.99 and the 32GB (WID/32GZ) is $174.99. The Wi-Drive is compatible with the iPad, iPhone 3G/3GS/4, and iPod touch.
