LaCie today announced the latest addition to its portable external hard drive lineup, the Rugged eSATA. The device can be bus powered when connected to a USB/eSATA combo port, one of the only products in its class offering such a feature. The Rugged eSATA is compatible with standard eSATA ports and includes a USB cable to supply power. It has a 500GB 7200RPM internal hard drive and a three-year limited warranty. Data transfer rates through eSATA are up to 90MB/s.
The Lacie Rugged eSATA portable external hard drive is available now through LaCie’s online store and LaCie partners for an MSRP of $159.99.
