Today Lenovo expanded its ThinkPad line with the release of two new models, the ThinkPad P1 and the ThinkPad P72. The P1 will be Lenovo’s thinnest and lightest mobile workstation to date, and still packing a 15.6” 4K screen. The P72 is a 17” mobile workstation with up to 6TB of storage offered.

The new Lenovo ThinkPads can be equipped with 8th generation Intel Xeon and/or Core CPUs and with NVIDIA Quadro GPUs. For the ThinkPad P1 users get a premium style 15” mobile workstation with ample power. Aside from the CPUs and GPUs (either NVIDIA Quadro P1000 and P2000), users get a 4K UHD touchscreen that represents 100% of the Adobe color gamut. The workstation also comes with up to 4TB of M.2 PCIe storage and 64GB of 2,667MHz RAM.

For the users that need larger screens and capacity, Lenovo is also rolling out the ThinkPad P72. This 17” mobile workstation can be outfitted with the above mentioned Intel CPUs as well up to the NVIDIA Quadro P5200 for graphic cards. The P72 can be configured with up to a whopping 6TB of storage, 128GB of memory, and 16GB of Intel Optane memory. Ideal use cases include oil and gas, automotive and financial industries.

Availability
Both of the new ThinkPad models are expected to be available at the end of this month with the P1 starting at $1,949 and the P72 starting at $1,799.
