LSI corporation and Seagate today announced they will be collaborating to enter the PCIe-based enterprise Solid State Disk (SSD) market. LSI’s SAS and PCIe technology will be integrated with Seagate’s SSD products to produce solutions for data center and cloud computing environments.
LSI corporation and Seagate today announced they will be collaborating to enter the PCIe-based enterprise Solid State Disk (SSD) market. LSI’s SAS and PCIe technology will be integrated with Seagate’s SSD products to produce solutions for data center and cloud computing environments. The LSI PCIe-based products are designed to increase enterprise application processing speed and reduce I/O latency. The first products resulting from the collaboration are expected to appear in the second quarter this year.
The PCIe SSD market is an emerging segment. Pricing information was not available at press time.
