The P410m is the first Micron SAS SSD to leverage the company’s 25nm MLC NAND flash technology and Micron’s Extended Performance and Enhanced Reliability Technology (XPERT) platform. The P410m is shares most of its architecture with Micron’s P400m, a 2.5-inch 7mm SATA SSD that that proved itself a competent mainstream enterprise SSD in StorageReview’s recent benchmarks.

By using the same internals as the P400m plus an added Emulex SATA-to-SAS bridge, the new P410m represents a low-cost entry point for Micron in the SAS SSD market, where the SAS interface provides Micron with an SSD solution that fits into dual-port enterprise architectures. There are many applications where low-cost SSD storage can provide a tangible improvement in the data center for power consumption, cooling requirements, and performance, including persistent storage applications. Manufacturing, testing, and qualification for the P410m is completed solely at Micron facilities.
