Monster Digital is continuing its aggressive expansion into the storage space. A few weeks ago Monster announced they’d be offering a SandForce based SSD dubbed Le Mans, this time they’ve announced an agreement with Seagate that will have Monster selling the new 750GB Momentus XT. It goes without saying that it is a surprise to everyone to see Monster jumping so quickly into the storage sector.

Monster is certainly flexing its muscle in the storage space, hoping that its brand is strong enough to move SSDs, hybrid hard drives and flash memory cards. Widely known in the home theater space, Monster does have at least some exposure in the PC market with cabling and power management offerings. This latest experiment is completely an exercise in brand power however. Monster plans on offering the drive as part of a "simple upgrade" kit, but the drive itself is the same Seagate product that’s available in bare form now.
Monster will be showing off their 750GB Momentus XT offering, along with the Le Mans SSD and memory cards at CES next week.
