MSI AMD EPYC 4004-Series Support
MSI has announced the availability of new high-performance server platforms that support AMD EPYC 4004 processors. These platforms are designed for small and medium-sized businesses as well as regional-hosted IT service providers, emphasizing essential security features and energy efficiency.
MSI’s server platforms equipped with AMD EPYC 4004 processors aim to enable customers to implement high-performance computing solutions that are cost-effective, easy to deploy, and manageable. This initiative addresses common challenges such as high system costs, limited IT expertise, and infrastructure constraints that have previously hindered small businesses.
MSI’s D3051 and D3052 motherboards will leverage the AMD EPYC 4004 processors to offer distinct networking speed options to meet the growing demands of data-intensive operations. These motherboards use the standard Micro ATX form factor (9.6″ x 9.6″), providing a cost-optimized solution for server deployment. The D3051 motherboard includes up to two 10GbE and one 1GbE onboard Ethernet ports, while the D3052 features two 25GbE onboard Ethernet ports. Both models come with four DDR5 DIMM slots, one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, up to six SATA 6G ports, and two PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 ports.
MSI also offers two server platforms tailored for small businesses with distinct cooling solutions, which include a single AMD EPYC 4004 Series Processor. The S1102-01, an air-cooled server, supports CPUs up to 105W and provides efficient thermal management. The S1102-02, featuring a closed-loop internal liquid cooling system, supports CPUs up to 170W and is designed for businesses that require enhanced cooling performance. Both platforms include four DDR5 DIMM slots, one PCIe 4.0 slot, two NVMe M.2 ports, two 10GbE onboard Ethernet ports, and four 3.5-inch SATA hot-swappable drive bays, all within a compact 1U configuration.

GIGABYTE AMD EPYC 4004 Series Support
In addition to TYAN’s recent announcement, GIGABYTE has also revealed its support for the AMD EPYC 4004 Series processors. GIGABYTE has integrated these processors into their AM5 socket servers and server motherboards aimed at entry-level enterprise customers. This support will be enabled via a BIOS update, which will be pre-installed on new systems in the near future.
Built on the AM5 socket, the AMD EPYC 4004 platform is designed to deliver enterprise-grade features that ensure reliable daily operations with minimal downtime for small businesses and cloud services. The platform has been validated for compatibility with server operating systems like Ubuntu, RHEL, and Windows Server, enhancing system manageability and security against cyber threats.
