Netstor has released the NS388, a new 2.5" enterprise-level 12Gbps SAS Expander designed to save power, significantly improve business archiving and increase production efficiency. The Netstor NS388S is built as a high-density framework, featuring low space requirement and ultra-low power consumption design. Netstor indicates it will maintain fast data transfer to host, provide organizations with the option og dual SAS Expander modules and boast native 12Gbps SAS data support.
The NS388S is comprised of a 2U height form factor that leverages a 17.7inch (45cm) deep chassis design for more efficient heat dissipation throughout the enclosure. The front of NS388S is equipped with up to 24 ultra-fast, low-power SSDs or 2.5" high-capacity HDDs, allowing for a high-density 2U data storage solution. In addition, Netstor asserts that its SFF chassis architecture enables enterprises and organizations to fully leverage the storage at their datacenters, saving space for the cabinet room. The NS388S is boasted as significantly energy efficient, no matter the drives being used, and serves complete low-powered and cost-effective storage solution.
While most current 12G SAS storage are equipped with just one HD mini-SAS port for upstream, Netstor has added two 12G SFF-8644 ports for host to their NS388 SAS, quoting the maximum throughput up to 9,600MB/s as a result. Additionally, the NS388S gives users the option of dual SAS Expander modules.
