Kingston Intros CompactFlash Ultimate 600x Card


Kingston announced the release of its CompactFlash Ultimate 600x memory card. It supports UDMA mode 6 and has read and write speeds up to 90MB/s. The 600x card join’s Kingston’s 266x Ultimate and 133x Elite Pro cards.

The 600x is available now in 16GB and 32GB capacities and is backed by a lifetime warranty. The 16GB model is MSRP $154 and the 32GB MSRP $270.

Toshiba Rolls Out Canvio USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drives


Toshiba has introduced its Canvio 3.0 external portable hard drives. Models are available in 500GB, 750GB, and 1TB capacities.

USB 3.0 offers up to 10x faster transfer speeds than USB 2.0. The Canvio drives are backwards-compatible with USB 2.0. NTI BackupNow EZ software is included for backup and features 256-bit data encryption.

The Canvio’s exterior has rubberized edges and a high-gloss black finish with red, green, blue, white, or silver graphical accents.
The Canvio 3.0 portable hard drives are available now. the 500GB version is $119.99, the 750GB $129.99, and the 1TB $179.99.

Patriot Intros Convoy Storage Devices

Patriot Memory announced its 4×4 Convoy series of 5.25" bay enclosures. The 425S and 425XL can fit up to four 2.5-inch hard drives or SSDs in a single 5.25" bay.

The Convoy is built with an aluminum housing and has two 40mm fans for cooling. The 425XL model adds RAID functionality; it supports RAID 0, 1, 3, 5, 10, and JBOD. Both models are backed by a two-year warranty. Both models are available now; the 425XL model is MSRP $119.99 and the 425S is MSRP $71.
