Actifio Launched A Data Protection Service For GCP Bare Metal
Actifio announced the launch of data protection services for Google Cloud Bare Metal Solution. This expands the partnership between the two companies. Benefits include:
- Application-Consistent Incremental-Forever Backup that drastically shrinks customers’ backup windows and RPO
- Instant Mount and Recovery that reduces RTO for multi-TB databases to just minutes
- One-Click DR Orchestration enabling customers to fail over databases, application servers and the complete application stack with a single click
- Rapid Database Cloning for DevOps and BigQuery analytics on a self-service basis with zero incremental infrastructure costs. Actifio customers see a dramatic increase in productivity and have a 25% reduced time to market
- Convenient Pay-as-you-go consumption model with Actifio GO for GCP SaaS offering in Google Cloud Marketplace
Actifio Sues Rubrik
Actifio also announced a lawsuit against Rubrik. Actifio claims that Rubrik infringed and continues to do so, on four of their patents: 6,732,244; 6,959,369; 9,495,435; and 10,013,313. Actifio seeks injunctive relief, as well as monetary damages.
TEAMGROUP Launches CARDEA Ceramic C440 SSD
TEAMGROUP launched its new T-FORCE CARDEA Ceramic C440 SSD. The drive is a M.2 PCIe Gen4x4 and leverages a ceramic composite for cooling. The drive is said to hit 5GB/s read and 4.4GB/s write. The drive comes in capacities up to 2TB and is aimed at the gaming community.

Ahana Announces Linux Foundation’s PrestoDB Availability
Ahana announced that its open source PrestoDB is available on the AWS Marketplace and on DockerHub, PrestoDB AMI and PrestoDB container respectively. PrestoDB AMI on AWS Marketplace is completely free and works as a good introduction to Presto. PrestoDB is a federated SQL engine for data engineers and analysts to run interactive, ad hoc analytics on large amounts of data, which continues to grow exponentially across a wide range of data lakes and databases.
Commvault & Microsoft Partner To Deliver SaaS.
Commvault has entered a strategic partnership with Microsoft for Commvault’s Metallic Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) data protection portfolio with Microsoft Azure. This will bring the data management and protection of Metallic to Microsoft Office 365 data in the case of accidental deletion, corruption, and malicious attacks.
Zadara Announces 93% Increase In Gross Profit YoY
The Storage-as-a-Service company, Zadara announced a 93% increase in gross profit year-over-year. Other momentum includes:
- YoY gross profits — increased by 93%
- 17+ consecutive quarters of recurring revenue growth
- New customer accounts — grew over 100% YoY
- Global partner network — grew over 100% YoY
- Team expansion — grew over 70% YoY
Lexar Announces SL200 Portable SSD
Lexar released a new portable SSD, the SL200. This nice-looking little drive comes with USB-C connection, up to 1TB of storage, and up to 550MB/s read speeds. The drive comes with 256-bit AES encryption and can be picked up for $160 for the 1TB model.
Nasuni Is Available On Azure Marketplace
Nasuni announced that is file services platform is now available for purchase in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. This is good for both companies’ customers as Nasuni fire services allow customers to accelerate their migrations to Azure with a file services platform built for the cloud. Nasuni customers can take advantage of all the benefits of Azure.
