AMD Releases Radeon Pro Software For Enterprise 19.Q2

AMD released its quarterly software update for Radeon Pro. New capabilities include:

  • AMD Remote Workstation – Offers access to the full GPU-accelerated experience a workstation provides from any location with virtually no performance degradation, as demonstrated on the SPECviewperf 13 “3dsmax-06” benchmark by remotely accessing an AMD Radeon Pro WX 4100 graphics-powered workstation.
  • Performance optimizations – The Radeon Pro WX 7100 outpaces the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 by about 51% in Siemens NX 10.0.
  • Universal support for mission critical design & productivity workflows – AMD Radeon Pro Software for Enterprise has over 750 ISV certifications since the start of AMD’s Day Zero Certification Program and is ready to support the Windows 10 May 2019 Update.
  • Multitasking – Radeon Pro Software for Enterprise 19.Q2 offers Radeon Pro graphics cards users greater multitasking performance in high-demand environments. Unlike the competitive solution, which suffered a 39% performance hit on the demanding SPECviewperf 13 benchmark with the Prime95 CPU “stress test” running in the background, the performance of the Radeon Pro WX 4100 remained steady (demonstrating only a minor change in performance, about one percent).

Datrium Unveils Automatrix Platform

Datrium released its secure multicloud data platform, Automatrix. As the name implies, Automatrix delivers a suite autonomous data management applicaiotns built on SaaS applications framework. Key benefits include:

  • Consistent experience on-premises or cloud: By unifying and automating data services with a multicloud platform, enterprises have a much simpler and more efficient infrastructure to operate, and much more fluid workload portability across clouds with a consistent experience. This is complemented by the Datrium Forward software subscription model, which enables the platform licensing itself to be portable.
  • Cost-efficient multicloud workload portability: Autonomous data services that are intelligent and always-on (self-optimization, self-protection, continuous data verification, continuous compliance checks, end-to-end encryption and more) minimize switching costs in moving workloads across clouds.
  • Liberation from overhead operating tasks: Automatrix’s cloud-first design enables the next level of consolidation of workloads and automation of day to day operating tasks by using SaaS and software-defined converged infrastructure to simplify operations.
