Nutanix has provided tie-ins to integrate their software with ServiceNow for several years now, but this update is not just more of the same. Nutanix’s new release brings important new features to their integration. Nutanix Prism Pro customers can now respond to alerts and incidents directly in their ServiceNow portal. Now customers can resolve infrastructure shortages or issues in ServiceNow’s ticketing system in addition to automatically creating the issue tickets. Further reducing the need to juggle multiple interfaces should help IT teams resolve issues more swiftly. It will also allow management to track them more accurately. One of the examples Nutanix gives of this is the newly added option to automatically pull Nutanix Xi Beam’s cost and security optimization recommendations into existing ServiceNow workflows. By automatically creating tickets based on cost savings recommendations and security vulnerability alerts and assign them to an appropriate owner, customers will be better able to manage the costs of public cloud usage and limit unintended public cloud consumption.
Nutanix also announced that they’d begun development on Nutanix Calm 3.0. Nutanix Calmis the company’s DevOps application automation and management software. When it is ready for release, it will further strengthen the company’s integration with ServiceNow. Unfortunately, Nutanix hasn’t even hinted at when 3.0 might be released.
