OCZ Agility 4 SSD Targets Price-To-Performance

OCZ Technology Group has announced its Agility 4 SSD series, featuring a 6Gbps SATA III interface and the Indilinx Everest 2 controller platform recently introduced in their flagship Vertex 4 SSD series. According to OCZ benchmarks, the Agility 4 delivers transfer rates of up to 400MB/s and up to 85,000 random write IOPS. These benchmarks and OCZ’s aggressive Agility series pricing together position the Agility 4 to become a leader in SSD price-to-performance.

According to OCZ benchmarks, the Agility 4 delivers transfer rates of up to 400MB/s and up to 85,000 random write IOPS. These benchmarks and OCZ’s aggressive Agility series pricing together position the Agility 4 to become a leader in SSD price-to-performance.

Manufacturer benchmarks indicate that the transactional performance of Everest 2 has doubled from the original Everst controllers for many common applications. The dual-core Everest 2 controller architecture includes an advanced error correction code (ECC) engine, dynamic wear-leveling, auto encryption, and Indilinx Ndurance 2.0 technology to extend NAND flash operating life.
