OEMs are now able to get their hands on the Everest SSD controller OCZ displayed at Computex. The SSD platform is the company’s first major release since OCZ acquired Indilinx last spring, a move that give them an in-house alternative to SandForce.

The new controller supports SATA speeds of up to 6Gb/s and memory capacities of up to 1TB. It utilizes a dual-core ARM CPU and can utilize up to 1xnm Node NAND Flash with 1, 2, or 3 bits per cell. It utilizes an 8-channel architecture with 16-way memory interleaving. The company is claiming sequential speeds of 500MB/s and optimizations for compressed files between 4K and 16K. They also claim a 50% reduction in boot time compared to other SSD controllers.
