Oracle Selects LSI Nytro PCIe Flash Accelerators for Exadata X4 Database Platform

LSI has announced that Oracle selected Nytro flash accelerator cards for Oracle’s new Exadata X4 Database Machine, the latest in Oracle's line of integrated Exadata database solutions. Exadata X4 offloads SQL operations to Exadata Storage Servers with Nytro accelerator cards in order to perform data filtering and processing in parallel. Exadata customers will also be able to utilize LSI’s new Dynamic Logical Capacity (DLC) compression technology.


LSI has announced that Oracle selected Nytro flash accelerator cards for Oracle’s new Exadata X4 Database Machine, the latest in Oracle's line of integrated Exadata database solutions. Exadata X4 offloads SQL operations to Exadata Storage Servers with Nytro accelerator cards in order to perform data filtering and processing in parallel. The Oracle Exadata Database Machine X4-2 is available in eighth, quarter, half, and full rack configurations. The full rack comes with eight 2-socket database servers, 14 Oracle Exadata Storage Servers, InfiniBand switches, and more than 44 terabytes of flash cache. Each Exadata Storage Server will incorporate four Nytro PCIe cards with a total capacity of 3.2TB of flash memory.
