Plextor announced their second generation series of SSDs at CES last month, and now they’ve sent word that the drives are shipping. The Plextor M2 SSDs use a SATA 6Gb/s interface and deliver top line read speeds of 480Mb/s and writes of 330MB/s, which incidentally is faster than the 400MB/s and 300MB/s quoted in the initial product announcement.

Other highlights include power consumption of .75W active and .25W idle, three year warranty, 1.5 million hour MTBF.
