Pogoplug has announced its newest product, the Pogoplug Series 4. The new model allows users to host their own content from their home or office and to add as much storage as they need. The main difference between this and the older Pogoplug Mobile though, is the much faster connection speeds with USB 3.0 now included and internal SATA for a 2.5-inch hard drive.

We reviewed the Pogoplug Mobile last month, and though it didn’t break any performance records, we thought it was a great personal cloud device with an incredibly easy setup and interface. It’s likely that the newest version will follow suit. The previous model had a USB 2.0 port and SDHC card slot, whereas the Pogoplug Series 4 has five available ports, including USB 3.0 and SATA/USM. Like its predecessor, series 4 will give customers the ability to expand their cloud with no limits, which results in no monthly fees.
The Pogoplug Series 4 is now available at major retail stores for $99.95; however, current users can purchase the new device for 50% off. Be sure to act fast though, the offer expires on December 21st.
