QNAP indicates that the TS-435XeU is ideal for media and comms equipment cabinets.
Under the hood, QNAP’s new compact rackmount features four 3.5-inch SATA drive bays and up to 32GB DDR4 memory (4GB DDR4 comes standard). In addition, the dual 10GbE and dual 2.5GbE ports mean workflows that deal with large file transfers, high-speed backup/restoration, and multimedia transmission will be fast and efficient. It also supports port trunking and load balancing for improved performance and reliability.
Two M.2 NVMe SSD slots can be used for caching to boost application performance and reduce latency, or Qtier auto-tiering to maximize storage utilization and efficiency. The TS-435XeU’s storage capacity is scalable by connecting the NAS to QNAP storage expansion units.
Other features of the new TS-435XeU include:
- Qsync support, which helps to streamline cross-team file sync.
- Block-based snapshots, ensure data protection, provide instant restoration, and can help protect against the impact of ransomware attacks.
- HBS (Hybrid Backup Sync), which facilitates local/remote/cloud backup tasks enclosures.
In addition, the TS-435XeU users will have access to QNAP’s built-in App Center, which allows users to do things like host containers, deploy a cloud storage gateway, and implement a professional video surveillance system.
