QNAP has announced the launch of their 4-bay TS-464 and 6-bay TS-664 quad-core 2.5GbE NAS solutions. Ideal for professionals and office users with high-speed demands, the new TS-x64 series comes equipped with M.2 NVMe SSD slots and 4K HDMI output as well as PCIe Gen3 expansion capabilities for 10GbE or 5GbE connectivity and QM2 cards for M.2 SSD caching.
QNAP indicates both models are also ideal for virtual machine displays and smooth multimedia streaming while offering Snapshot support to help protect data from ransomware threats.
The TS-x64 series features an Intel Celeron N5105/N5095 quad-core 4-thread processor (burst up to 2.9 GHz) with Intel AES-NI encryption engine and can be outfitted with up to 16GB of dual-channel memory (4GB comes standard). For connectivity, they feature two 2.5GbE ports, two USB 2.0 (480Mbps) ports, and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) ports that provide speedier data transfers and backups. Its M.2 PCIe Gen3 slot allows for cache acceleration or SSD storage pools to help improve overall performance.
As indicated above, users can also add a 10GbE network card for speedy wired connectivity, or a QM2 card for NVMe SSD caching or Qtier. The TS-x64 series can also scale as your storage needs grow via QNAP’s TL and TR storage expansion enclosures.
Like all QNAP NAS solutions, the TS-x64 series is managed by the latest QTS 5.0 operating system, which features a comprehensive range of NAS home and business applications. This includes:
- HBS (Hybrid Backup Sync) realizes efficient local/remote/cloud backup jobs
- Block-based snapshots make data protection and recovery easier, helping to mitigate the threat of ransomware
- HybridMount provides cloud storage gateways that integrate private and public cloud storage and enable local caching
- Virtualization Station and Container Station enable light virtualization applications
- QVR Elite helps deploy a cutting-edge smart surveillance system
- Multimedia applications like Plex
