QNAP Systems, Inc. has announced the availability of the TS-h1090FU, the company’s newest high-density NVMe all-flash NAS that features U.2 NVMe PCIe Gen 4 x4 SSD architecture. Purpose-built for high throughput and low latency workloads, it comes equipped with dual-port 25GbE connectivity, PCIe Gen 4 expandability, ZFS reliability, and QNAP’s SSD optimization technologies.
The TS-h1090FU features 10 drive bays with U.2 NVMe PCIe Gen 4 SSDs support (or SATA 6Gb/s SSDs) within a 58cm depth 1U rackmount chassis. It is powered by a 2nd-Gen AMD EPYC 7002 series processor and features DDR4 ECC memory with 12 Long-DIMM slots for up to 1TB memory for memory-intensive workloads. For connectivity, the TS-h1090FU offers 2.5GbE, 25GbE (with iSER support) and PCIe expandability for 100GbE ultra-high speed network connectivity.
QNAP’s new high-density NAS runs the ZFS-based QuTS hero operating system, which focuses on data integrity and protection with self-healing storage, near-limitless snapshots, and versioning. It also features Write Coalescing, TRIM, and Pool Over-provisioning to help organizations and users get the best performance and lifespan possible from their NAS SSDs. In addition, QNAP includes their exclusive QNAP SSD Antiwear Leveling (QSAL) technology to help prevent simultaneous SSD failure.
Users also have access to the QNAP’s App Center, which comprises many install-on-demand apps, further expanding the versatility of the TS-h1090FU. This includes use cases such as:
- hosting virtual machines and containers (supports LXD, Docker and Kata Containers),
- facilitating VMware/Hyper-V VM backup, streamlining local/remote/cloud backups,
- simplifying Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 backup
