The TVS-x71 series is available in 4, 6 and 8-bay tower form-factor models and is powered by the latest Intel Haswell CPU with numerous options including Pentium, Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors. As such, QNAP quotes the NAS to deliver upwards of over 2,300MB/s throughput and 135,000 IOPS, which allow for resource-heavy tasks such as running Virtualization Station, real-time 4K video playback and transcoding, and serving numerous of simultaneous connections.

In addition, the TVS-x71line is 4K UHD-ready, allowing users to play 4K videos through HDMI with minimal impact to other NAS services. It is also equipped with Intel HD Graphics in order to support superior real-time 4K (H.264) and 1080p video transcoding that convert videos to universal formats for playback on PCs, mobile devices, and Smart TVs.

QNAP's exclusive QvPC Technology uses a variety of high-end technologies such as VM integration, multimedia transcoding, HDMI output, cloud integration and NAS connection technologies. Users can also connect a keyboard, mouse and HDMI display, which creates a cost-effective PC substitute to directly access stored data with the ability to run multiple applications on Windows/Linux/UNIX/Android-based VMs, browse the web, watch 4K videos with up to 7.1 audio with XBMC, and monitor live feeds on Surveillance Station.

The all-in-one TVS-x71 series offers support for common business applications. Additionally, it supports VMware, Microsoft and Citrix virtualization solutions and features cross-platform file sharing for Windows, Mac, and Linux/UNIX users. To improve the efficiency of permission settings, the TVS-x71 supports Windows AD, LDAP directory services and Windows ACL. The NAS can also act as a domain controller for Windows, and offers flexible backup solutions for Windows and Mac users and disaster recovery solutions including RTRR, rsync and cloud storage backup.
