QNAP has announced two new 16-drive, 3U rackmount Turbo NAS systems featuring Intel’s Xeon and Core i3 processors, optional 10Gb/s ethernet and 6Gb/s SATA interfaces, and up to 64TB storage. The TS-EC1679U-RP and TS-1679U-RP achieve 2,000 MB/sec and 200,000 IOPS throughput in QNAP’s benchmarks, making them the highest capacity and highest performing NAS products released by QNAP to date.

The TS-EC1679U-RP and TS-1679U-RP achieve 2,000 MB/sec and 200,000 IOPS throughput in QNAP’s benchmarks, making them the highest capacity and highest performing NAS products released by QNAP to date.
The new models offer simultaneous support for IP-SAN (iSCSI) and NAS implementations and are VMware Ready, Citrix Ready, and Windows Hyper-V compliant. Both models feature cable-less backplanes, hot-swappable fan modules, and logged intrusion detection.

16-drive 3U rackmount, Quad-core Xeon Processor E3-1225 (3.1 GHz), DDR3 ECC RAM, 600W redundant power supply, 2X expansion slots, and 4X Gigabit LAN ports with expansion options for Gigabit and 10GbE networking.
TS-1679U-RP
16-drive 2U rackmount, Dual-core Intel Core i3-2120 Processor (3.3 GHz), DDR3 RAM, 600W redundant power supply, 2X expansion, and 4X Gigabit LAN ports with expansion options for Gigabit and 10GbE networking.
Both systems support RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, 6, 5+ hot spare, 6+ hot spare, 10+ hot spare, single-disk, JBOD, and Global Hot Spare, allowing a spare drive to replace a failed drive on any RAID volume for automatic rebuilding. The new models ship with QNAP’s NAS management software, facilitating Windows AD integration, LDAP server and client implementation, and other SMB-oriented deployments.
