Samsung has announced two new storage solutions designed for mobile devices; a 64GB moviNAND embedded memory device and a 32GB micro secure digital memory card.

Samsung has announced two new storage solutions designed for mobile devices; a 64GB moviNAND embedded memory device and a 32GB micro secure digital memory card.

The 64GB 64GB moviNAND manages to measure in at 1.4mm in height, but jams in 16 30-nm 32Gb MLC NAND chips and a controller. With the new 64GB module, Samsung now offers their moviNAND embedded storage in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB densities.

The 1mm-thick (.7mm at thinnest point) 32GB microSD card stacks eight 32Gb NAND components and a card controller. This card mark’s the industry’s highest capacity, production-ready microSD card. The previous leader was a 16GB card based on 40nm-class 16Gb NAND.

The 64GB moviNAND went into production in December, while the 32GB microSD is now being sampled with OEMs, with mass production expected next month.
