Update 3/10/11 – Samsung Spinpoint F4EG Review Posted
The power consumption numbers are pretty impressive, the F4EG consumes 6.3W during sequential read/write activity, 5.7W random, 5.1W idle and 1W while in standby. If these numbers hold true in our testing, the F4EG should be the most power efficient drive on the market, edging out the current leaders in the space (detailed power consumption stats for green hard drives).
Other highlights include SilentSeek and NoiseGuard technologies for quiet operation, SATA II interface, 32MB buffer and NCQ support.
Availability
The Samsung F4EG will be available in September in 1.5TB and 2TB capacities with a MSRP of $119.99 and $149.99 respectively.
